The Company - Company History
ATC Power Systems was founded by Joel Bedell in 1981
to design
and manufacture power supplies for the demanding military market.
In 1982, Mr. Bedell began negotiation with Larue Renfroe,
owner of
Assurance Technology Corporation, to provide financial
backing to
ATC Power during its start up years. Mr. Renfroe, a
longtime
associate provided the financial resources in 1983. This began a
synergistic operation for the two companies with complimentary
technical strengths and developed a longstanding friendship
and business relationship between Mr. Bedell and Mr. Renfroe.
Assurance Technology Corporation was started in 1969 and has
grown
to over $60,000,000 in sales year 2005 with approximately
400 employees. Assurance Technology’s primary
customers are direct
contacts with the U.S. Navy and Air Force. Subcontractors
to other
defense contractors add a small portion to the business in the
design and development of Space borne and tactical Communication
Systems,
microprocessor based controller and data processors, and
ground
support and test systems.
Both ATC Power Systems and Assurance Technology Corporation
are in excellent financial shape after years of profitability.
ATC Power Systems has been investing in modern equipment to
reduce labor costs, increase capacity, and improve product quality. |
